What is Videocafe?

Essentially, Videocafe is your ultimate video destination on the web. We are a customizable video streaming community that allows users to watch, upload, search and share videos, allowing you to have a completely interactive video sharing experience!

Is Videocafe free?

Absolutely, Videocafe is a completely free service. Video hosting, viewing, and membership all have no cost. So feel free to watch, upload and share as many videos as you like, as often as you want. In fact, we encourage it!

Why do I need to tag my videos?

Tags are important because they are the key words that identify what a video is about. Tags enable you to easily search for the videos you want to watch, and allow others to find the videos you upload. So say you’re in the mood to watch something that will make you laugh until you cry, you might want to search for “hilarious,” “crazy,” or “funny.”

Can I vote for videos?

You sure can! We’ve made rating the videos you love or hate really easy. If you love a video, simply click the “Hit” button to vote for it and make it a hit. On the contrary, if you don’t like a video you can click “Miss” to reduce its rating. It’s that simple!

How do votes work?

If a video gets enough “Hit” votes from the user community, it has the opportunity to become a featured video. If a video gets too many “Miss” votes, better luck next time! Video ratings allow you to browse the highest rated videos on Videocafe, as determined by the user community. So voting for videos is important because it will help determine what videos you want to see!

How do I comment on videos?

In order to provide a safe and responsible community, commenting on videos is only available to registered users of Videocafe. Registration is free and quick! Under the video player click on “Post Comment” then type your comment in the field and click “Save.” Note: If you are unable to post a comment but have registered, make sure you are logged in and remember, no inappropriate comments.

What is a video comment?

Videocafe gives you the opportunity to respond to a video with one of the videos you uploaded, or one of your favorites. So say you have a video similar to one you’ve viewed and you want to brag that yours is better, you can do so with a video comment! Another great thing is you can finally express yourself better than with emoticons and chat lingo and respond with your real emotions.

Can I save a video?

When you see a video you would like to watch again, you can add it to your Favourites by clicking “Add to Favourites” under the video player. There’s no maximum to the number of favourites you can have, so add away!

How do I view my favourite videos?

When you are logged in you can view your favourites by clicking “My Favourites” in the Home tab. Clicking on “Delete” under the video will remove it from your Favourites list. You can also check out the videos other Videocafe users have added to their favourites in the “Top Favourites” part of the Video section.

Can I delete a video?

You can only delete a video you have uploaded. To do this, go to “My Videos” and under the video you wish to remove, click “Delete.” If you would like to flag a video for deletion due to violations of the Terms of Service, please click on “Report Content” under the video player to notify our staff.

How do I delete a comment another user left on a video I uploaded?

You can delete comments on your videos by playing the video and then clicking on the number of comments (you have to have at least one to delete, of course), and then clicking the link “delete comment” underneath the comment itself.

How do I get my video featured?

We do not have any hard and fast guidelines that we use to select our featured videos. As a rule of thumb, be interesting, non-offensive, and generally likeable. It's up to you to find out what that is!
